A greater-Richmond chess camp designed specifically for rising third- through ninth-grade students. Learn what every beginning and intermediate chess player needs to know to play better chess in a fun and nurturing setting!
If you’re new to chess or still learning the basic moves and rules, we have a learning track that’s perfect for you: the Chess Crash Course. Master how the pieces and pawns move, learn en passant, castling, chess notation, rules and the basic skills you need to start playing chess with confidence!
Designed specifically for intermediate players who already know the basics and are ready to jump into the world of attacking chess. Campers will improve their skills by working through checkmate challenges, forks, pins, skewers as well as basic and intermediate endgame skills.
Our Advanced Camp session is for players who already have an understanding of intermediate middlegame and endgame play. This session builds upon those skills to focus on advanced topics in the opening, middle and endgame designed to help campers sharpen their play.
